Couscous is a staple dish in North African region like what rice is to us. It is made from Semolina and is said to be the healthiest of them all in terms of grain-based products. Unfortunately, couscous is not widely available here in Manila. However, there is no need for us to look any further as we recently discovered that there is a decent couscous dish in Uncle Cheffy! Their Warm Couscous Salad (₱395 large, ₱295 regular) is not exactly a salad if you are expecting a lot of leaves and the works. It is mainly composed of this yummy couscous cooked in cherry tomato dressing. The taste reminds us of a lighter version of the paella but with a different texture altogether, which is a welcome change. It goes well with Uncle Cheffy's tuna belly, ribs, or chicken dishes.
Uncle Cheffy is located at the new Eastwood Mall, the Burgos Circle Area the Fort and at Nuvali
